Welcome to Creative Journeys Art Therapy Counselling Services
Hi, and thank you for visiting. I’m so glad you’re here. Art therapy as expression offers a chance to pause, clear the mental clutter, and be fully present. It’s a space to find stillness and reconnect with yourself, your loved ones, and your relationships through creativity.
Maybe you’re an adult carrying the endless demands of life, always caring for others but rarely yourself. Or perhaps you’re a parent worrying about your teen—wondering if they are okay if you’re doing enough. You might even be here for a child, struggling with emotions too big for them to handle alone or hoping to strengthen the connection within your family.
Wherever you are in your journey, you’re not alone. At Creative Journeys, I’ve created a warm, welcoming space where you can breathe and be in the present moment. Discover healing, clarity, and connection through the transformative power of art therapy counselling services.
Let’s begin this journey together.

Cecilia’s art therapy sessions have had a massive impact on my daughter’s mental state and overall well-being. After engaging with Cecilia, my daughter has become noticeably calmer and more focused. She is now better able to channel her energy into productive activities and has learned to use art as a tool for building resilience and maintaining composure in stressful situations. Cecilia’s guidance during her first year of High School has been instrumental in helping her develop these invaluable coping mechanisms. I am incredibly grateful to Cecilia for helping my daughter.

Honestly, it was one of the most healing experiences I’ve had with art. I got to use all different types of materials to make amasing art. I was encouraged to talk about my feelings in a safe space and didn’t feel judged once. Some of my best artworks were made with you and I will cherish the experience of being able to do this, it is a massive privilege and I am so grateful!

What is Art Therapy?
Art Therapy offers two key approaches to self-expression: art as therapy and art in therapy.
In ‘art as therapy’, the focus is on the creative process itself. Through exploration of different mediums, clients can express their emotions on a rational, emotional, spiritual, or physical level. Therapists may ask clients about how they felt during the creative process and how those feelings relate to their lives. The emphasis is on the experience over the content of the artwork. The act of creating art can be deeply therapeutic, helping people explore their emotions, reduce stress, and gain insight into themselves and their experiences.
In ‘Art in Therapy’, clients focus on exploring the deeper meaning of their artwork by describing what they see, not what they think. This method helps bring unconscious thoughts to the surface and reveals connections within their lives.
Art is a nonverbal language for self-expression, personal growth, and transformation, allowing people to connect with their inner selves. This approach is especially helpful for those who may have difficulty expressing their thoughts and emotions with words. It opens a channel of communication, particularly for children and adolescents who may struggle to articulate their feelings.
